Blue Catfish on the Flats

I caught this fat little blue cat on the flats near Havre de Grace aren't you suppose to kill them? I also got a couple channel cats.

DNR Response: We ask anglers to remove and kill any blue and flathead catfish they catch. Catch and release of blue and flathead catfish is discouraged, as they are invasive top predators and pose a serious long-term threat to our native species.
