I was fishing the Belle Grove Ponds of the Patapsco River Sunday, Aug. 25th and caught what I think is a Quillback Carp. The picture is not the best but you can clearly see the dorsal fin. The head was more rounded than a Common Carp and the mouth was more like a Common sucker and it had no barbells, it was approximately 18 long. I caught the fish on a rattletrap and it was hooked under its mouth, so not sure if the fish actually went after the lure or just a foul hook, either way its always exciting to bring in a fish that I have never caught.
DNR Response: Kenny, you are correct you did catch a Quillback Carp.
