Fishing with a Purpose on Memorial Stadium Reef

I want to tell everyone about a great day on the water this past Monday! This Fall, the Fisheries Service and the Maryland Artificial Reef Committee partnered to sponsor a survey of Fishing Success on MARI sites. 15 volunteer fishermen are recording data on their fishing trips on Memorial Stadium Reef (a MARI site) and nearby Man O� War shoals. I designed the survey and will be doing the analysis, but wanted to see the �real� side as well. Dave Zajano graciously took me with him this Monday to fish for White Perch. For those of you that know me, you know that I got a big thrill out of seeing how �my� data were collected, and Dave even let me write some numbers! Oh, and by the way, Dave uses a �clicker� to keep an accurate count of total fish caught � because he is regularly catching over 50 fish per hour! It was �Fish ON� the whole day!
