Region: Southern
Location: Myrtle Point
Caught a handful of blues, a small perch and whatever this may be??? at Myrtle Point yesterday afternoon.
DNR Response: That is our good old friend, the Inshore Lizardfish. They are fairly common in the shallows of the coastal bays and lower Chesapeake Bay. They are a voracious predator that lurks in the shallows of bays and shore waters and often burrow in the bottom. They will attack lures and baits of fishermen that seem much too large for them to consume.
