Large Cat Hits Smallie

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Northern
Location: Octoraro Creek

I was fishing the mouth of Octoraro Creek just below the dam. I was using blood worms when reeling in a little smallmouth when this toad hit. Really surprised to get it in on 12 pound test, the flathead was 37 1/2" and had to be well over 15 pounds. By far the biggest fish I have got this year.

DNR's note: Please do not transport flathead catfish to any bodies of water within the state, flatheads are an invasive species and if caught please to not return to the water. www.dnr.state.md.us/invasives/index.asp
