I have been trying to get my friend Al into a decent Yellow Perch bite for a few years. With busy schedules, terrible weather and the wrong tide, we never seemed to be able to catch up with them. The weather this year has just been plain crazy. I am happy to report that water temperatures have now risen considerably (only to go back down starting this afternoon). My fishfinder read between 46-47 deg F all morning. Many fish were caught, but only few were legal. However, all the females that we caught had not spawned yet. We fished about 6 different holes by boat downstream from Millington, with the average size of fish getting larger as we moved downstream. Unfortunately, when we finally found the spot, we only had 20 min left to fish! Jigs, minnows and grass shrimp all caught fish this morning.
