I took advantage of the recent 4-day warm spell and found a couple of small public lakes that were free of the ice I thought would last til for ever! Using the tiny 1/200th oz Trout Magnet with a pink plastic and a single maggot, I got a nice mixed bag of 42 Bluegills, crappie and bass by wind-drifting the tiny offering on 4 lb test and a 5 foot drop below a sensitive bobber. Best crappie went 13.5, and it was a black-nose. Glad to finally fish open water with success as opposed to sitting on a bucket in the cold on the ice! Here are a few pics�
