Inland fisheries began their tidal bass survey of the Wicomico River today (10/4/2010). Despite relatively cold temperatures and light rain, several 13 � 15� largemouth bass were caught within 2 miles of the public boat launch in Salisbury. In addition, a few juveniles and age 1 fish were caught. Other fishes caught included yellow perch, common carp, white perch (adults and juveniles), bluegill, and channel catfish. The survey will continue further downstream until Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Complete catch statistics, including lengths, weights, counts, for the tidal rivers of the Bay will be presented in February or March of 2011.
