One Good Fight

Type: Nontidal
Region: Central
Location: Northwest Branch Park

On April 8, 2014, I was in Silver Spring, MD at Northwest Branch Park off of Randolph Rd. around 12:30. By 2:30 I was on my fourth catch 26 Inches long and boy was it a heck of a fight, when I hooked him he was in 3 feet off water I thought I was gonna lose him, 3 min into the fight my buddy called and says he's around the corner and I hadn't brought my net to fish it out myself.

I had no choice but to hold on and after 5 minutes my buddy showed up and he's walking down the trail about 50 yards away. I yelled out to him to hurry because I caught state trophy. Then he dropped all his tackles and ran towards me with the net, I was thinking at any moment the fish was gonna jump off the line. 3 minutes after he watched me fight it and reel it in he grabbed a net and fished it out.
