Brian Zagalsky, age 11, caught this 46", 40 pound rockfish on Opening Day, April 19, 2014, with brother, dad, and friends near Thomas Point smashing his previous personal best rockfish of 33 and earning him his 1st rockfish citation for the Maryland Fishing Challenge. It hit the lure furthest out on the boards and 100 feet back, so it was a long hard fight of 200+ feet after the drag screaming run the fish made when it hit. Brian was thrilled to get the new family record after his 8-year old brother, Darin, got 3 citations in the week leading up to Opening Day, and set a record of 45 that only lasted a week. A great way to start the season!
