47 Inch Potomac Striped Bass

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Potomac River

I wanted to send in this picture of my wife (Mary Bean) who caught her biggest fish ever on Saturday May 3, 2014. We were fishing in the Potomac River, off of St. Georges Island when she landed this awesome 47", 40 pound rockfish. The fish was caught on a chartreuse Bloody Point tandem rig running from planer boards in 65 feet of water. We also landed a 43" rockfish on the same rig. Since Thursday fishing in the Potomac River has been VERY good from St. Georges Island down to buoy 5!!!
