Johnson's Pond Survey (Wicomico County)

Type: Nontidal
Region: Eastern
Location: Johnson's Pond (Wicomico Co)

We completed an electrofishing survey of Johnsons Pond yesterday. The bass population appears to be in great shape! There were an abundance of bass of in all size classes, but smaller bass were most abundant. Two of the most positive observations were the abundance of young bass (which bodes well for the future) and the robust physical condition of the bass we collected (indicating abundant forage). The largest bass we collected was around 4 pounds. We frequently encountered yellow perch, black crappie and a fair number of large chain pickerel.
