Location: Upper Potomac
My nephew, Tyler Lavrenchik of Hagerstown, and I took advantage of a beautiful weekend on the upper Potomac River. Smallmouth Bass action was good as these fish seemed to have moved from the spawning grounds into their typical summer habitat. Riffle areas with moderate flow and cobble bottoms proved to be most productive. Tubes and weightless soft plastics worked best as the smallies wasted no time pouncing on what appeared to be an easy meal!
