I took my 91 year-old father out to Loch Raven for the first time this season on Wednesday, June 4th. We found three different productive locations and Dad had a ball with the slip bobber rig, catching a personal best of 24 Bluegills. All were good sized and brilliantly hued. We kept a few for a tasty dinner.
I was just as pleased to land this 13-inch Largemouth Bass. At Loch Raven, I seem to catch only Pickerel casting crankbaits, so this time I tried a spinner bait instead. I don't know what bait this V-shaped lure is supposed to replicate, but it sure worked!
