Post spawn largemouths continue to feed well in small lakes throughout the Mason Dixon area. Although most fish have spawned, we did encounter a few fish last week that did not appear to have dropped eggs as of yet. Also, lots of bass fry are cruising the shallows and small bass and bluegills are feasting on them.
Anglers take note: there are many outstanding 'under the radar' public venues throughout the state that have quality fishing for 3 to 5 pound and up bass, with little or no pressure. No matter how small or urbanized, don't overlook the possibilities for excellent bassing right under your nose.
The two largest bass were caught on 2 pound test while scouting for bluegills on 6-13 and 6-16 in public venues.
