Pipefish

Type: Tidal
Region:
Location:

What did I catch?

DNR Response: That is a Pipefish which is a close relative to the seahorse. We have two species of pipefishes in the Chesapeake; the Dusky Pipefish and the Northern Pipefish which are very similar in appearance. The Northern Pipefish is the more common and widespread of the two species.
