Monster Perch

I caught this monster perch at a marina on Middle River around noon on a gold spoon. I thought he was a nice sized largemouth cooling off under the dock but after my 3rd pitch he went after it. It's easily the largest perch I have ever caught but 1 of my buddies is saying he thinks it's a perch smallie hybrid. Your thoughts? Had to weight about 2lbs easy.

DNR Response: That is one whopper Yellow Perch for sure. As far as a Yellow Perch x Smallmouth Bass Hybrid; we do not believe that is possible.
