Oh Deer

Andrew Julian, Lance Julian, and Matt Loiacano were fishing just South of Buoy 84 in 65 feet of water and, to their surprise, came across a buck in full swim mode. He couldn�t have been any further from either shore and was clearly disoriented and running out of steam. We went from being fishermen to cowboys and, after many attempts, got a rope around him. It was a long, slow ride to shore that included many wrestling matches to keep him off the boat. After about an hour, we reached Poplar Island and cleanly released the tired boy. He walked up onto the rocks and stared back at us as we drove away. No rockfish, but a story we�ll remember for a long time!
