Multi-Species Action

Type:
Region: Central
Location: Central MD lakes and ponds

We have had a good week fishing small public and private lakes in the central Maryland area for bass, crappie, sunfish and channel catfish. Bass have been up to 4 pounds and the best channel cat was over eight pounds. We have been wet-wading for the bass with heavy braided lines fishing Stank X stickworms in and around heavy aquatic primrose vegetation. Biggest cats came on small live bluegills below a bobber.

Also we had great family fishing fun with sunfish at the local ponds. My 2-year old granddaughter, Abby, got an assist for her first fish ever...a bluegill! Additionally, we got big pumpkinseed sunfish and trophy class hybrid sunfish. The monster hybrid sunfish took 1/4 oz Rattle Flash spoons. Biggest hybrids went 1 pound 12 ounces. All fish were released.
