Spesutie Island Fishing

Caught this nice bass near Spesutie Island. It was hanging under a local dock pouncing on this year's juvenile Striped Bass. I noticed several other LM bass doing the same thing.

Please note that I spotted a snakehead floating dead near the docks at 39.480462 North, 76.106205 West. It was out of reach. I have been fishing over 30 years and can ID species, so I am quite certain what it was. It had distinctive black and white markings, the long (Blenny-like) soft dorsal and anal fins, as well as the characteristic head and black eyes. Disappointed to see one this far north, even dead.

DNR Response: Without a photograph we cannot confirm it was a snakehead. In April 2011 there was a report of a snakehead caught in the Northeast River.
