Tridelphia Largemouth Bass

Type: Nontidal
Region: Central
Location: Tridelphia Reservoir

I caught this bass on November 5, on a windy cold day fishing from my kayak in a cove off Tridelphia Reservoir. I originally assumed of course that it was a largemouth. I am wondering now if it was actually a spotted bass. Are they ever found this far North? It has a smaller mouth than a typical lmb and has the coloration and pattern of a spotted bass. Maybe. Can you help me here?

DNR Response: Based upon what we can see in the photo, it appears to be a largemouth bass. A spotted bass should have rows of black spots on the lower half of its body. I don't think we have documented any spotted bass in MD yet.
