Fishing the Upper Savage

I was able to get out to the Upper Savage River for a few hours today (12/17/14). It has been a while since my last trip and decided to fish the Put and Take area to target brook trout. It was a successful trip with one brook trout a little over 10 inches (pictured) as well as other bookies in the 6-8 inch size class. I was also able to land a couple of stocked rainbows with the largest at 13 inches. Nothing spectacular but fun to catch! All fish were caught while nymphing larger pools.
