Hooked a Few Sluggish Flatheads

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Potomac River

My friend Jeff and I decided to take advantage of a warm February day and do some fishing. We set out for yellow perch and crappie but noticed huge schools of shad suspended with large fish underneath them. We dropped some metal down there and managed to hook a few of these sluggish flatheads. My largest of the day was 46 inches X 26 inches, estimated weight at 54 lbs. It was a great day on the Potomac despite some ice.
