Looking For Rainbows

Type: Nontidal
Region: Western
Location: Antietam Creek and Beaver Creek

I just got back from fishing Antietam Creek and the Catch and Release Fly Fishing section of Beaver Creek. I fished in the afternoon at Antietam Creek near the bridge hoping for some early season rainbows. I did not have much luck but managed to hook a pretty 12-13" smallmouth bass on a wooly bugger. The fish fought hard making me think it was a big rainbow trout. After a couple of photos I put it back.

The smallmouth was my first fish of 2015. I did not catch anything else at Antietam Creek so I decided to go up to the Catch and Release Fly Fishing Section of Beaver Creek to fish in the evening. Had a couple of small brown trouts bite on a nymph pattern but could not hook them. I am looking forward to the weekend and the opening of all the put and take trout streams in Maryland. It could snow on Saturday but maybe not too much. Tight lines.
