MDNR biologists recently stocked 300 rainbow trout into Governor's Bridge Pond, a MD-NCPPC pond located in Bowie, MD. A utility vehicle and cattle tank was used because the trout truck can't easily access the pond.
A total of 600 trout were stocked this year, the first year that Governor's Bridge Pond has been a part of the put-and-take trout fishery. The pond feels somewhat remote, and offers a unique fishing opportunity in southern MD. So far there seem to be a few happy anglers, and we encourage others to take part. Keep in mind that there is a two fish limit per angler, so there are plenty of fish to go around.
