Liberty Chain Pickerel

Went out on the boat to Liberty today... Ended up catching 8 largemouth, 2 yellow perch, and a pickerel. The pickerel concerns me because I didn't think they were in the lake... Has anyone caught any before???

DNR Response: We have not captured any chain pickerel in our surveys on Liberty Reservoir. However, in the past 2 years we have had a couple of angler reports of chain pickerel being caught at Liberty. MD DNR Fisheries did not and would not have considered stocking chain pickerel into the reservoir. Liberty does not have extensive aquatic vegetation beds like Loch Raven so we do not anticipate that chain pickerel will ever reach the population levels that we see in Loch Raven.
