Trophy Rainbow Trout

Thanks to Maryland DNR for their trout stocking program! I hooked this trophy rainbow trout measuring 23.75 inches long and weighing 6.8 pounds on the upper Patapsco River on April 24th, 2015. It was a beautiful spring morning and imagine my surprise while fishing with 4lb test line and PowerBait on an Ugly Stik when I first glimpsed what was on the end of my line. My 14� trout net was entirely not sufficient but managed to scoop half of this monster and land on the river bank. After the adrenaline wore off I was fortunate enough to also land a beautiful golden rainbow trout.
