Another fantastic day fishing in "The Wood!" The LM Bass strikes were spread out a bit but in a span of 3 hours a good friend and I brought in about 12 LM, carp and a black crappie total. The water is still cool and murky but it's getting better for predatory fish. The biggest, baddest, most difficult along with the most baffling catch was the vary large carp, who struck on the same Rapala 3" silver minnow I've been using since the fish started biting this year out there. All the other pictured bass hit the same lure using a slow, steady retrieval. To MD DNR, is it common for carp to bite on that particular lure!
DNR Response: We would not say it is common for carp to hit a Rapala swimming minnow lure but carp are very opportunistic when it comes to their dietary habits, so anything is possible.
