Potomac River Walleyes - Cumberland

Type: Nontidal
Region: Western
Location: North Branch of the Potomac in Cumberland

The water levels finally dropped enough to fish the North Branch of the Potomac in Cumberland for the running walleyes. I fished Friday afternoon and Saturday morning at the Blue Bridge, landing 4 fish from 20-23 and losing 2 others, including one very large walleye. All of the fish were caught on a 3/8 oz. white jig with a 4 pearl grub and were showing signs of being on the edge of spawning. Along with the walleyes I also caught a nice 14 smallmouth.
