Location: Skyesville Park
I was fishing in one of Skyesville's parks that Piney Run (stream) goes through and caught this minnow on a crappie jig and was trying to identify it. Any information would be welcome.
DNR Response: You caught a Creek Chub. The Creek Chub is a common minnow, its back is olive-colored, it has silvery sides, and it has a long blackish-brown stripe down the side. Creek Chubs can grow to 12 inches, but they are usually much smaller.
