I was able to hit Liberty Lake the other day for a few hours to try to nab a big smallie which has eluded me so far this tough Spring. Caught a few smaller bass on plastics and jerkbaits before I decided to downsize and just try to nab some crappie. That was the trick. Landed a 15+ crappie on a 2 inch plastic minnow jig as well as numerous nice white perch, yellow perch, a 20 catfish and to top it all off a 6 pound 8 ounce largemouth (my digital scale is very close to dead on) my personal best LM ever! All on 6 pound test and an ultralight 5 rod. What a blast. Everything was related to downed trees and timber in about 6-10 of water. Good time!!
