Trophy Hybrid Sunfish

Fished an outstanding private fishery for some trophy hybrid sunfish from 10.5 to 12.5 inches that took a 1/8th oz gold Kastmaster spoon with a small plastic trailer. Thunderous strikes and long, tough battles on 2-pound test mono. Also got a few nice crappies at this total catch and release venue. These were Green Sunfish x Bluegill hybrids.

Don't overlook spoons and small spinners as an option when big panfish get fussy and have literally seen it all. KastMasters, Rattle Flash Spoons and smaller Mepps Spinners have a place in the panfishing arsenal. Good Luck!
