<p>Jackson, a first grader at Darnestown elementary, has been checking fishing activity all year in the local ponds around Darnestown. Having to satisfy himself with catching salamanders and some small minnows once the ice melted, he was excited to find the largemouth bass had awakened and begun their spring season in the shallows. This 12" specimen chomped on a minnow spinner bait last Sunday and didn't let go.</p>
