Bow Hunting Snakehead

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Spillway Across from Lake Lariat

Hi there I'm a 23 year old up and coming bow fisher. This huge 34 inch, 11lb snakehead met his demise today 6/15/2015 at 6:45 pm. The rain had just stopped for a bit so I figured I'd go give it a shot. I headed to the spillway across from Lake Lariat in the Chesapeake Ranch Estates of Lusby, Maryland. I walked around the small pond to see if I could see anything and I saw this monster but didn't have my bow and spooked it off, normally you get once chance. I went and grabbed my bow out of the car and came back to the spot I originally saw him, he was about three feet to the left. I drew my bow took a deep breath and released. That's when I saw the fish with my arrow in him jump out of the water, I knew I had a great fish on. I killed it according to law and am taking him tomorrow to get my citation!! Great way to end a miserable day.
