Fishing Fun at Woodsboro Pond

Type: Nontidal
Region: Central
Location: Woodsboro Pond

Hi! My name is Quinn Law-Knotts and I am 11 years old.

I was fishing in the Woodsboro Pond on July 4, 2015. It was only my second time fishing so I didnt expect to catch anything. I got to the pond and tried one spot. Nothing. Not even a nibble. Then I moved to another spot. I saw some fish so I cast out. I waited for about 5 minutes and nothing happened. So I moved to yet another spot. I cast out again and as I was reeling my line in I saw that the fish seemed interested. So I ran over and put a worm on the hook. Then I got an idea. I could cast out and then reel it back in so the worm would be in the fish's face. I got a fish to nibble. I reeled in but all I got was pond weed. I tried again and suddenly I felt a pull.

"Mama! I think I got a fish!" I yelled. She hurried over to look as I reeled it in. Sure enough I had caught a bluegill. It was really pretty. It had cool orange eyes and it was a blue green color. My Mom took a picture of me with it, but it kept surprising me because it would just randomly start flapping. We took my fish off the hook and released it back in the lake. I looked at my hook and realized there was fish lip skin on it Ewww! ?

I always have a great time fishing and catching my bluegill today made it that much better!
