the second annual Yellow Perch day

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Northern
Location: North East, MD

Saturday March 5th was the second annual Yellow Perch day at North East Park in North East, MD. CCA has done a great job hosting this event for the last two years. There were hundreds of anglers of all ages. Some fishing from boats. Many fishing from the shores of the park. I am happy to report that many participants caught yellow perch. My son and I chose to fish from our kayaks. We had a great morning catching fish, all totaled we caught well over 20 yellow perch. I started the morning using plastics, but was not have any success, strange because I had been using them on the shore only a week earlier with good success. A friend of mine on a boat near where I was fishing was using minnows and offered me some. I was lucky enough to win third place in the weigh in. The picture is of me holding 2 of my biggest catch of the morning
