Despite the hot weather we have been experiencing the small lake and pond bite has continued to remain good for both bass and panfish species. Bass are still going for stick worms early and late in the day and the bluegills and pumpkinseeds are smashing small jigs tipped with bait below a bobber. I recently caught and released a 10 and 10.5 inch pumpkinseeds that had fins and tails rubbed raw and beyond from what may have been very late spawning efforts. Fabulous fish, they were both over a pound in weight.
