Channel Catfish in the Youghiogheny River Reservoir

Type: Nontidal
Region: Western
Location: Youghiogheny River Reservoir

Fishing for channel catfish in the Maryland portion of the Youghiogheny River Reservoir has been productive during the early evening. Donnie Oats and his son Brett and I fished last weekend, using chicken livers for bait and we caught several catfish from 21 to 25 inches, plus a few yellow bullheads. Fishing for the "whiskered ones" is becoming my favorite fishing pastime, as these fish put on quite a fight!

Pictured are Donnie, Brett, and myself with some of our catch.
