Late Summer Mixed Bag

While fishing in the Upper Gunpowder River last weekend, I caught and released 6 smallmouth bass on an imitation crayfish lure. One rainbow trout also eagerly struck the same lure. Two weeks ago, the yellow perch bite was on in the Patuxent River (near the RT 214 bridge). The fish were caught on nightcrawler rigs, near the base of submerged trees.
