Good Night for Bass

Type: Nontidal
Region: Central
Location: Upper Potomac River

We were fishing from the upper Potomac River in Frederick and it was a good evening for smallmouth. About 20 or so between my friend Bryan and I within a few hours. We doubled up 3 separate times, once with me hooking a 2 pounder and Bryan hooking the biggest Smallie I have ever seen come out of the Potomac. It was somewhere between 4-5 pounds. Hooked it on a bitsy tube.

Action was the best we've seen all year. River is still running clear but up slightly from Saturday's rain. Bass are finally showing interest in top water. I nailed about 6 on poppers. Nice change from throwing the trusty tubes.
