I was fishing in the Nanticoke River from a private pier in Riverton, MD last weekend. I caught several blue and channel catfish up to the 3 to 4 pound range. However, the largest fish was a white catfish. I thought it was a blue until I noticed the broad head, shorter anal fin, and less deeply forked tail. I'm guessing the fish weighed 5 pounds or more since I had no scale or measuring device. It was definitely the largest white catfish I've ever seen. The picture shows the fish before the hook was removed. It was released.
