"Two fun methods to take advantage of this scenario are light tackle jigging or using topwater lures around surface feeding fish. At the moment most are reporting that the striped bass in the tidal rivers of the upper bay tend to be in the 14" size range."
I went out Tuesday morning with about an hour to kill, and the overcast skies led me to believe a topwater lure would get attention. All told I caught 5 fish. The one pictured was the largest and is almost the definition of the fish from the September 30 Fishing overview (probably 14 inches). The others that I found making noise were maybe 10 inches almost too small to hook up despite some mighty effort by those little guys trying hard to hit the pop-R.
Looking forward to this weather moving out so I can fish the Key Bridge and the Canton piers from kayak.
