Location: Hart-Miller Islands
On the morning of Saturday, October 24 we set out of Middle River and fished Hart-Miller Islands. The day started off fairly breezy but calmed down once the sun was up. We started out plugging and using topwater lures at points on the islands but didn't have much luck. We set out to find schools working baitfish east of the islands. There were multiple large schools feeding on bay anchovies and the activity was exciting. Between four of us, we caught approximately 60 stripers with most between 10 and 15 inches. We landed about 6 that were 16 to 19 inches but didn't manage any keepers. Any lure that mimics the bay anchovy was successful, but in particular, we had our best luck with the Shiner color Reaction Innovations Little Dipper softbait on 3/8oz jigheads. My 8-yr old son had an absolute blast!
