Fall Tidal Bass Surveys

Central Region Fisheries Staff assisted staff from the Tidal Bass Program and Southern Region with Tidal Bass sampling on October 6th. Central Region Staff sampled ten sites between Swan Creek, the Upper Chesapeake Bay, and the lower Susquehanna River near Havre de Grace. 62 largemouth bass were observed during the survey and ranged from 6" to 20". The heaviest largemouth weighed in just shy of 5 pounds. Three smallmouth bass were observed including a 20.1 inch 4.7 pound trophy.
