The pickerel action is heating up on the Severn. My dad and I took the boat out last weekend with the intention of catching stripers on the fly but could not pass up the opportunity to get into some of the Severn's creeks and hook up to some pickerel. White and chartreuse was the ticket as we landed fish consistently for about two hours under piers and near structure. The smallest was about 10" and the largest got up to a little over 22" (pictured). It's great to see a good variety of sizes showing up this early in the season.
