Long Range Sea Bass Trip Worth it

Type: Ocean
Region: Eastern
Location: Offshore Ocean City

I just returned from a long range sea bass trip on 11/4/15. It was worth it with many quality fish caught up to 3 1/2 to 4 lbs. The Morning Star headboat left early at 6:15 AM for a long 3 hour and 15 minute ride out to a fishing spot. The wait was worth it as we only had to anchor up to one spot with a few minor adjustments throughout the day. There was a fish counter from DNR who counted my fish throughout the day helping me to unhook them and measure them. The action was non-stop with many nice fish caught on clam bait and squid. Also caught bluefish and a couple of cunner fish as well. Before long I had my limit along with most of the anglers on the boat. Throwbacks were many but the nice quality of fish more than made up for the work of reeling in a lot of sea bass. These fish fought hard. Weather was nice for early November. Might go again though my freezer has plenty of sea bass fillets. Tight lines.
