Fishing was Hot at the Bay Bridge

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Upper Bay
Location: Sandy Point/Bay Bridge

I took a buddy out for his first Bay fishing trip Could not have asked for a better day. It started out a bit rough, and I was considering calling it quits. But the fish were hot and the waves died as the day went on. For a good two hours we couldn't keep the fish off the lines. We stayed around the Bay Bridge and chased the gulls diving on baitfish. As soon as we cast, we were getting bites. All the fish were in the 9" to 14" range and were holding at about 10 feet at the drop offs. I'd say that between the two of us we boated probably 50 fish. The lure of choice was a pearl paddle tail with a little glitter on a 1/4 or 1/2 oz jig Trolled or cast.
