Big Cat

Type: Nontidal
Region: Northern
Location: Wilson Point Park

On a cool overcast rainy morning, i decided to take a trip to wilson point park. with the water still being chilly, i wasnt expecting much fish action, but to my delight on my first cast, a small tug on my line landed me a small mud cat (bullhead) 14 inches long and weighing about a pound. After returning the fish to the water , i casted towards a large swirl in the water. Again my line tugged, this time however the fight was on, after about 10 minutes the fish surfaced and i could see it was a large catfish. after landing him, it turned out to be another mud cat, this one weighing in at 3 1/2 pounds and measuring 23 1/4 inches long. not the state record i was looking for but ill take a fish like that anyday. as a reward for his good fight, The fish was returned to the water to fight another day.
