What a day on Conowingo Lake. I have always heard of these Hybrid Bass for many years but have never caught one or let alone seen one caught. Well, today that all changed as I boated 2 trophy fish. My first catch was one coming in at just over 10 lbs, wow what a catch I thought, then 20 minutes later I get bit again and was shocked!!! As I fought the current and fish by myself, barely able to fit in the net, I landed this Hybrid Bass that weighed just over 20 lbs. After talks with DNR I learned no state record was on file, yes it was a catch of a lifetime, but after a couple pictures with a cell phone, I let this monster of a fish go. I did a little research on the Hybrid Bass and come to find out the WORLD RECORD is just over 27 lbsso who knows, the next world record could be swimming in Conowingo Lake.
