47 Inch Catch and Release

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Lower Bay
Location: The Bay

Today I went fishing with Captain Greg Shute on iFishMD.com out of southern Maryland. It is amazing when a plan goes off without a hitch! Well, the 3-5 footers early this morning weren't exactly part of the plan, but catching a bunch of nice fish trolling and landing a BUBBA and then switching to jigging and catching and releasing endless mid to upper 20's and ending with one over 30" was exactly the plan. It was a great time with a great captain and a great crew.

I thought I had the fish of a lifetime 2 weeks ago when I caught the 47 incher on my Judge 27, and I fully expected that making the trip south with Greg on his Judge 27 would lead to something bigger, but 45+ pounds? The big fish hit a White Bloody Point Tandem from All Tackle on a board rod in 60 of water as we were pulling in our last 3 rods. After a quick photo, she was released and swam away strong Epic day!
